Six teams entered the HSFA 100 this week, including Lipscomb Academy , led by former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer. Lipscomb makes its first-ever appearance in the Top 100 at No. 92. No. 3 St. John Bosco, national champion in 2019, faces No. 18 Servite in the second semifinal, a rematch of a Bosco win on October 29.

Two southern California playoff games this weekend will shape the stretch run for the High School Football America national championship. During the offseason, IMG promoted NFL Legend Pepper Johnson from defensive coordinator to head coach. Overall, Texas leads the way with 19 teams in the HSFA 100, followed by Florida with 15. Two-time defending national champ Mater Dei begins the season as the No. 1 team in the High School Football America 100 national rankings. The University of Rio Grande Valley will host a press conference to welcome their new head football coach, Travis Bush.
During this past weekend, 13 teams in the HSFA 100 won state championships. BC will play arch-rival Don Bosco Prep Saturday for the Non-Public A state championship. During the regular season, the undefeated Crusaders shut out Bosco 17-0 on September 24. A showdown between No. 2 Westlake and No. 61 Lake Travis looms this week with the Texas District 26-6A championship on the line. The rivalry game, known as the "Battle of the Lakes," began in 2006. Westlake will be looking for its second straight Texas high school football championship when the playoffs begin in two weeks.
Dr. Catherine Ayoub is a licensed psychologist and nurse practitioner whose work at the Brazelton Touchpoints Center includes program development, research, evaluation, consultation, and training. She is responsible for overseeing the evaluation efforts at the Center and is presently engaged in research around child, family, and system-level assessment with attention to evidence-based practice. Raised in Mexico, Dr. Ayoub comes from a multicultural background and has special expertise in clinical work, program development, and research with Latino families. Rosario is the Parent Policy Council Chair for the AVANCE Head Start and Early Head Start programs in Starr and Zapata Counties. A Starr County native, Rosario is a stay-at-home mother of four, who loves the HS/EHS programs and what they do for children and the community.
The biggest shake-up in the rankings came after No. 22 Corner Canyon lost to Lone Peak, snapping the Chargers’ 48-game win streak. This week, the Monarchs will play No. 127 Orange Lutheran, followed by an October 15 matchup against No. 95 Santa Margarita. On October 23, Mater Dei will play arch-rival Servite, ranked at No. 24.
